Tricked Trout

This type of ground-breaking research is why I hunt the web daily, and is vitally important to proper management and ultimatelt the preservation of the fishing resources associated with fly fishing. Bravo!

I've been catching up on re-run Fly Fishing television that somehow escaped my attnetions before now. Fly Fishing Profiles is one of those programs. The Basalt boys episode was great, though the sound mixer should be fired. What prompted this post is the Howell episode, and my ignorance of some pretty famous flies. The Sheepfly, Kevin's Stone, and the TX Piss Ant. I like the Stone pattern alot, and the Sheep Fly is going in my box. Researching tying recipes, instructions led me to a YouTube tier, Burkfly, that I enjoyed watching and seems to be using Snow Shoe Hare materials in innovative ways. Check it out.

Great stuff over at the Weekly Fly : Tips, Techniques, Materials, Ideas.

Under 16+ inches of snow so there will be no fishing today. I'll be surfing instead.

Fame will, undoubtedly, go to his head. Just you watch, the next time we go fishing he'll be demanding the best runs, hoarding flies and keeping the scotch all for himself.
